Karen Schacht Farrell

Karen Farrell was born a native Alvinite, and is directly descended from one of the original settling families of the Alvin-Manvel area (the Boones). Her grandparents, Art & Ethelind Schacht were founding members of AGCC.

When not running the club, she now works in her successful website design business, Farrell Documentation, which designed, developed, and maintains this website.

Her favorite things about working at the club are being her own boss, making people happy, and keeping the tradition alive.   continued...

Patrick Michael Farrell

Pat Farrell was born in Buffalo, NY but got to Texas as fast as he could. In New York he studied computer science in high school and college and worked as a manager for Brunswick.

Brunswick had to transfer Pat, and he asked to be transferred to someplace warm. They thought he meant hot and transferred him to Texas, leading him eventually to Karen and Alvin Golf & Country Club.

His favorite thing about owning the club is hanging out with the customers. He likes the people.  continued...

AGCC History

Patrick & Karen Farrell bought Alvin Golf & Country Club in February of 2004. Since then, they have made many changes, including buying a new cart fleet, redoing the greens and fairways, reopening the grill, and remodeling the banquet room.

You can say that AGCC has been in Karen's family since the beginning in 1946 when her grandparents, Art and Ethelind Schacht, were founding members. In 1945, they were also one of the original purchasers of the land on which the course sits.
