If a tournament on the Tournaments & Events page indicates "AGA Tournament" under the tournament name, then you must be a member of the Alvin Golf Association (AGA) to play in that tournament. Membership is only $20 per year for guests and is free to AGCC members. Guests that join in July or later pay only $10.
Membership not only entitles you to play in AGA tournaments at Alvin Golf & Country Club, but AGA members enjoy complimentary handicapping service. Simply turn in a scorecard of nine or 18 rounds to the pro shop—from any course—and we will track your handicap. After you turn in five scorecards, your handicap is posted on the list in the grill bulletin board and behind the counter in the pro shop. If you play in a tournament elsewhere, the pro shop can call us to verify your handicap.
